I've essentially been up for the past 36 hours. That's a new record for me, not that I actually shoot for a record in this category. See, I say "essentially" since I did get some sporadic shuteye that totaled no more than 30 minutes.
Yesterday I volunteered at the elementary school again. I got there just in time. Mrs. K. forgot I was coming and when I showed up, she even said so. They were just about to go outside. The air conditioning was not functioning like it was supposed to, so it was really hot inside, so fresh air was in order. Jacob first showed his salt crystals that are actually his science teacher grandmother's. Then we went out. And one of the girls asked me if I wanted to play Frisbee with them, so I said sure. Those kids are so nice to each other! Like, really! I was amazed by their cooperation and friendliness. The guys had forgotten my name, and the one girl said, "I remember her name. It's Kim!" Only that's not my name. And I was so mystified and amused that I let it go. The other girls remembered my name. And I relish being addressed with Miss before my last name.
Later we went out to dinner at the Italian Affair for Pat's 20th birthday. We got home around 8. And I did homework from then until 5:20, basically. I showered around 11. Sociology took until midnight-ish, and the rest of art history took until about 4. Then I did Spanish. Then I figured I might as well stay up so I read the Physics and U.S. History chapters. 5:20, I was done. And I fell asleep and woke up at 6:02 and whispered vehemently to nobody, "I'M UP, OKAY?!"
We've dubbed ourselves as "JV Physics" students because we have Mrs. Hornibrook. Nick called himself and Martha the waterboys, although Martha preferred being a watergirl. Martha did better than Nick on the last test, and I said to her, "Maybe you'll start next time!" I bet I start JV Physics. I bet. Muahaha.
