At the beginning of Pre-Calc, I asked in a rush to MsBout if I could go to the guidance office so I could check what time I had to be at the Art History AP Exam. She informed me that there was a fire drill today so I should wait until afterwards. Then I said that I hoped she wouldn't mind if I didn't pay attention because I did not care about Pre-Calculus today, and I insisted upon studying for the AP Exam. According to Molly, my indifference was horrifying and heartbreaking to MsBout. Then there was an announcement over the PA which stated that the fire drill was cancelled. So, I headed down to the guidance office at that time. However, when I reached the guidance office, Mrs. McIlhenney was not there! The secretary did not know what time I had to report to the IMC for the exam, so she suggested that I fill out a blue scheduling form that said that I needed to know the time. So I did, and I put it in Mrs. McIlhenney's mailbox. Then I returned to Pre-Calc, in which they were learning the Four-Step Rule, or something, and I studied for my AP Exam. Molly said that MsBout was making strange gestures behind me and that it was funny. I did not find it funny.
In Physics, I sharpened four pencils and then I continued to study. Mrs. Hornibrook did not care that I was not participating in Turning Point. But Boody was annoying as hell and I greatly wished to hit him with my textbook. Then in P.E., I did not get dressed because I did not want to go outside in the heat and get hot and sweaty right before the AP Test. I wanted to retain as much energy as possible, in addition to get as much studying in as possible! Mr. Chew was like, "You're unprepared?!" even though it was obvious that I was not dressed for gym. I explained, "No, I blatantly did not get dressed so I could study for the AP Test." So Amy and I are making up the horseshoes test tomorrow. Then he told me to go to B-19. Restriction is weird. It is not a punishment. They watch movies and talk a lot in there.
Finally it was 5th period. Mary and I last-minute talked about nonwestern artworks. Then I turned around and informed Mr. Lawler that we had to disappear at about ten after so we could go to our AP Exam. He was very agreeable and wished us good luck! Then I continued to study while he was talking about the novels we could read for the final exam. The phone rang, and it was Mrs. Wisniewski, who had gotten the note, and I was informed, "11:15," which was what I thought previously but just wanted to confirm. Mary and I left at approximately 11:08. We went to our respective lockers to put away our books and then we met at the intersection of E and the annex of D. Then we went to the IMC. We saw B-Shaw! I insisted that he give us good luck hugs. And he did! Then we talked to the librarian, who informed us that the test was moved to G-208. So Mary and I walked out of the IMC and walked with Mr. Barnshaw until we reached the stairwell. We thought it was very lucky that we ran into Mr. Barnshaw and felt very confident.
When we reached G-208 (after passing it without realizing), we found a dark and empty room. We went in and stood there and wondered what to do. Then Mary suggested that we go ask Mrs. Cushane, so we headed quickly down to the Core to H-205. As we were walking, I saw that Holmsie had departed from his classroom and was talking to Holmes the Female. As we neared, they were done speaking, and Mrs. Holmes started walking away, and I yelled, "HOLMES!" with my arms raised in the air, with my four pencils and two pens. I said hastily that we were looking for our AP Test, and he held up five fingers in the air. He asked if it was the Art History one, and I said yes, and we continued on our way.
Mary opened the door to Koosh's room, and they started talking. Mrs. Cushane was like, "DON'T PANIC!" and kept asking us if we saw the gifts in the room. I thought she was being sarcastic and was referring to the bags that held the tests. But she kept saying gifts and seemed very concerned about their being there. She told us that we should go talk to Mrs. McIlhenney at guidance, so that's where Mary and I went next. Lauren was waiting in a chair, so we were relieved. Soon, Michelle and Erin showed up, and that was the entire group who was taking the test. After a while, they ushered us into the little room with the circular table and blue chairs. It was the first time we all actually just TALKED to each other. And at one time, I looked out the door, and I pointed out the painting on the wall. It was Among the Sierra Nevada Mountains, California by Bierstadt! Erin and I were happy that we could identify it. Lauren had lots of random stuff in her purse, like paint brushes and collapsible art stand. I, however, pulled out my poncho. It is packaged. Mrs. Wisniewski popped her head into the room and told me about the situation from earlier in the day, and she also said hi to Mary and Lauren. Finally, after about 45 minutes, we were told to go up to G-208.
Mrs. Cushane literally gave us gifts! She gave us a pencil (mine said "Do your best!"), White Cheddar Cheez-Its, and a piece of paper that read as follows:
"Hello, Erin
Just a note to let you know I'm thinking about you.
Take a deep breath, exhale slowly. Smile. Tell yourself that you have bene studying and listening and thinking about this stuff since September. Read carefully and assume you know something about every question. You are an expert.
Mrs. Tomlin and Mrs. Skiba [although it was not Mrs. Skiba] will take care of all the formalities.
No need to wish you luck, you will do well.
Enjoy showing off what you have learned.~Mrs. C"
It made me laugh hysterically.
During the break, we ate our White Cheddar Cheez-Its, drank bottled water, ate chocolate chip cookies and soft pretzels, and talked to each other. Then we wrote essays for two hours. My hand hurt on Essay #9, which was the last one, which finished at 4:01.
